What you must know about DATING.

Dating is what I call the “forerunner” of relationship.
Many people often mistake the two.

Dating isn’t being in a relationship.

I was discussing with my friends in Catholic car park, UI…some couple of weeks ago. And I told them that dating should be a “get to know you more” sort of thing.

When you go out for a one-one direct conversation with a particular person consistently and continuously, to build a particular relationship towards a specific course, then it can be said that you are dating the person.
……………………………………….

If I meet a lady in a bar, and we talked and resonated with each other so much to the extent that I started having multiple dinners and personal meetings with her, then I’m dating her. We aren’t in a relationship yet. I’m still getting to know her more in the hope that something solid will be come out from it.

That’s the essence of dating.

And understand that dating is always about both parties meeting together and getting to know themselves on another level. Above friendship level.

Have you ever thought that when people say they are going on a date, it’s always about them meeting one-on-one, and getting to know each other over the table?
Dinners, walk, lunch, drives.

Watching movies or going to the mall isn’t an example of dating.

There’s a difference between dating and “going out together”

Dating is before a relationship. The other one is during the relationship.

That’s why people in a relationship will say “I’m taking my babe out to watch a movie” …I’m going to the klazz restaurant with my boo…etc”

But you will see people that haven’t been in a relationship say “I’m going on a date with that babe I told you about….”omooo, I and Vincent are going on a date!! He is coming to pick me up by 7pm”

Going on a date somewhere is purely for direct communication and conversation. It’s always 75% of conversing and 25% of activities. Getting to know each other more by asking questions and sharing thoughts.

You see the difference now??

You can be dating for months. Without being in a relationship with the person, and you won’t even know.

That’s why sometimes, you feel like you’ve been knowing each other since, but nothing more than that. Just knowing facts about each other.
So when you stop dating, you take it as breakup. But you were never in a relationship with the person. You were just getting to know each other soo well, and then it stopped due to circumstances.
So why call that a breakup?
……………………………………….

So understand that dating is an entirely different concept from being in the actual relationship. Dating is just a forerunner. Paving way for a potentially strong and defined relationship. Just like John the Baptist paving way for Jesus Christ.

It looked like John was the chosen one because of the things that John did.

Same with dating. Because of the activities of dating, many people mistake it for relationship.
……………………………………….

Warning โš  When you date, the possibility of you being in a relationship with that person will be higher and the relationship lasts longer when you dated, than when you didn’t and just jumped right into it.
