3 things that you should never tell a guy

Sometimes ago, I did a blog post about “things you should not tell a lady”

Then some people told me to do that of the guys 😅

So I’m back here again, with another post on things you should NEVER tell a guy.

Even if the guy is your friend, brother, boyfriend, etc

These are the things you shouldn’t actually say to guys. Even guy to guy.

1. ShutUp

😅You see, this is particularly a valid point that majority of guys will firstly go with.

No matter how the situation might be, don’t EVER shut a guy up.

You see, some people might say “shut up” and it will look less offensive. But some might say “shut up” at the exact time when you are trying to make a very sweet point. 😂😂😂it will pain your head 😂

I remember when my two friends were arguing in my school, then one of them was continually shutting up my other friend.

My other friend was angry. And was on the fact that nobody has any right to shut another person up. It’s not fresh at all. Say what you want to say and if you don’t have tolerance for words, simply walk away, rather than trying to shut up the person.

To cut the story short, they engaged in physical fight.

Although I acted as an active bystander to separate them. They transferred aggression on me 😂😂😂💔

But the point is, no one should ever shut a guy up. That word “shut up” is so harsh. Some guys might demonstrate immediate anger at the mention of that word. While some might hate you for life! I’m really serious!

Same goes with ladies. Guys should be a real gentleman and understand that ladies love to express themselves. Respect that fact and NEVER tell her to “shut up” Even is she tells you that she needs $500,000 to buy a pair of shoes, don’t say “shut up”. Just faint. 😂

2. Don’t ever compare a guy with other guys.

“See that hairy guy at the front of the queue. If only you were hairy too”

“Your friend, Ben, wears a tie every morning to work. Please honey, can you start wearing one too?”🥺

All these comparisons gives guys the feeling that you don’t appreciate them for their true and plain characteristics.

Comparing guys is like comparing shoes in the store. You bring down their value and worth and then act as if it isn’t bad.

One thing that every kid hates (parents can relate) is when their parents compare them to other kids.

“Look at David from the other flat. He is 2yrs younger than you, but now he’s going to enter high school before you, and you are just here playing video games”

“Nora is the school prefect while you are just a normal student”

These comparisons are very unhealthy. And from my personal experiences, guys that are often compared to their mates, find so much pressure on themselves when they become adults.

They will always overdo themselves.

In relationships, when you compare your man, you are indirectly saying “hey boo, if you don’t be like that guy, I might leave you and go for someone who’s like that guy”

And then your man begins a competition that only him is a partaker of. He begins competing so that his girl wouldn’t have to leave him for that “other guy” who has the qualities she desires.

Don’t ever compare a guy with another. Love that guy for the qualities he possess. If the guy is lacking anything, help him get it. Build him up, instead of comparing.

Don’t ever compare a guy with another.

3. Don’t EVER EVER tell a guy to be responsible or to “take responsibility”

Guys have Ego. Some might be extremely big. Some might be medium. But there’s not a guy that doesn’t have Ego.

One thing that most people don’t understand especially ladies, is that, guys are humans and they also make mistakes.

But because they are guys, most of these mistakes can be very costly, either to the entire family, friend or even their future.

Most guys are trying their best to be responsible to their family, friends and future.

So you reminding them to be responsible is like saying “you weren’t ever responsible”

They will definitely feel sad. Especially if it comes from someone they really love or always try to please.

Depression might be inevitable.

Please ladies. Don’t ever tell a guy (friend, boyfriend, husband, sibling) to be responsible.

What most guys need in their darkest times, is the reassurance that things can go back to sunshine.

No matter how angry you are with the boy/guy/man, please, please, pleaseee.. don’t ever tell him to take responsibility.

Don’t ever tell a guy to take responsibility.

This goes to parents as well. Your children are really working hard to make sure you enjoy the fruits of your labor on them, before you get too old.

Everything a man works for, us mainly for family, then himself. But family comes first.

It will be a tragedy for that family to constantly remind him to be responsible. That will just lead him to unwanted thoughts and then bad advices will start flooding in. Pressures become too much and he goes into something that is really bad.

Never put pressure on a guy to be successful. After he attains the success, he will look at life as nothing. Like nothing to live for again.

Allow a guy to go through the bad and good times. All you can do is support every way you can.

Please. This is a very serious matter. Extremely serious matter🙏🏽🙏🏽

Ladies are wonderful set of people and without them, the world can not be balanced.

I want to thank all the ladies out there for the constant love and tolerance they keep showing to we guys, despite the fact that we guys could be jerks sometimes.

I know that as a lady, things aren’t really smooth for you. And challenges that you are facing are always underestimated by the world.

But I want to tell you today, I don’t know about the other guys, but as for me, I will never look down on any woman and I will always respect the fact that women are the most celebrated on earth!

Guys have challenges, women also have challenges, but most times, the women will leave their own challenges to solve the challenges of the guys. Such a selfless act!

Everyday will always be women’s day!

Thank you beautiful ladies and mothers for your pillar of support for humanity. 🙏🏽

Please guys, join me in the comment section as we all celebrate our girls and women together!!!

  1. Gotta disagree with you. I can think of many guys, including myself, who have needed to hear all three of these from time to time. Sometimes you need an extreme response from another person to wake you up.

    1. Thanks so much. Guys hate comparisons. And ladies hate it as well.

We should never compare anyone no matter how they might be. Understand that humans are different and love them for the characteristics they possess

  3. Haha I can see what you did there. I was bracing myself for a long lectury comment, until I reached the last part directed towards the ladies. Looks like flattery works on this lady. 🙂

  4. Excellent post, Vincent! I feel it is how things are said that matters. Comparing your significant guy to another is hurtful and disrespectful. And that goes with anyone. There’s a song, way before your time, “Love the One You’re With”, which even the title makes sense. Here is part of the lyrics (chorus) –
Well there’s a rose in the fisted glove
And the eagle flies with the dove
And if you can’t be with the one you love honey
Love the one you’re with, Love the one you’re with,
Love the one you’re with, Love the one you’re with.

The last part was one of the most beautiful paragraph I’ve ever read!
It means so much to us females that there are some males who respect us and love us for who we are!! You are one of them!!! Thanks Vince! 🙂
